We are inviting unpublished poems of up to 40 lines exploring the theme of peace in its broadest sense. ENTRY is FREE and you may submit up to three poems.
The closing date is midnight, 15th May  2026
Looking  for inspiration? There will be a poetry workshop at St Mary’s on Saturday 9th May, 1pm-4pm. 

The Words for Peace poetry workshop is an informal and welcoming opportunity to read,
write and share poems, explore the theme together, and begin or develop an entry for the competition.

The winner will receive a £50 book token.
The winner, together with a selection of runners-up, will be invited to read at the
festival’s poetry and music evening on Friday 3rd July
