Praying for our Planet

We are marking Climate Action Week with a special Celtic Evening Prayer service – ‘Praying for our Planet’. The service at 6.30pm on Sunday September 29 comes at the end of the international week of action around the United Nations Climate Summit.

It will feature prayers and readings on the theme of safeguarding the natural world, with sacred music and hymns set to folk tunes, played by St Mary’s Music Group, led by director of music Margaret Outen.

The Celtic tradition is deeply in touch with nature. Today, with so much of the natural world in peril there is even more need for a spirituality that sees the whole of creation, not just human beings, as precious and valuable to God

The service will be followed by the chance to socialise over refreshments, and there will be a collection in aid of environmental charities.
