thought for the week ‘It’s not fair’ is a refrain often heard by those of us who live or work with children. Children often express a very strong sense of justice and go to great lengths to gain what they see is their ‘fair share’. Over the last 2 weeks, I have taken the opportunity to hold ‘Big Brew’ events and tell children in assemblies about ‘Fairtrade fortnight’. This is an annual event which hopefully reminds us all of our responsibility, as citizens of the developed world, to ensure that everyone receives their fair share. Specifically, those in developing countries who grow and provide the many food and clothing products we can readily access in our shops. The fairtrade logo guarantees that those growers and producers receive a fair price for their labour and encourage the economic growth of their organisations and communities. Will you take up the challenge to trade fairly? "The field of the poor may yield much food, but it is swept away through injustice". Proverbs13:23
